The following work has been done by me and my crew:
The first
frame is pitch black this color has been use to show that this is going to be a
dark film; it has a thriller genre so audience would know that there is some
sort of suspense as there is not visible at the first frame so people are
expecting something to build up. The audiences are attracted to the unusual
first frame as the frame is pitch black and there is nothing to see so the
audience would be waiting for something to happen and it would leave them
thinking of what is going to happen next.
The second frame favors the first frame as the props that have be used are guns and these props are only visible and the camera is in point of view so it adds to the mystery so it is slowly building up from the gun it suggests danger and threat so audiences would know that there is also going to be some sort of action in the film as there is weapons being used. This attracts the audiences as t first it was a pitch black screen and then now they are seeing weapons so they become more interest into it. The camera is in 'point of view' so there is some looking at these weapons and they know that this person is in danger as you can see the character is dizzy as there is a blur affect added to this also the camera is waving across as if the person is not in his sense and does not know what is happening also the blink effect has been added on so the camera is flickering almost like someone is opening their eyes. The table that the guns are on is a black and has there are marks on the table so this shows that the location is not a clean location and that it a rough place to be.
The third frame shows the production company so the audiences know who have produced this film also as the background is in pitch black it adds to the thrill and mystery as the background is pitch black this regurgitates that this is a dark film the font that the production company is a sort of sharp font which favors the action and thrill genre as this type of font would not be used for a love story film.
The fourth frame just shows a date so this again attracts the audience as they are just given a date so this gets them thinking that what is this date used for this adds onto the suspense of what the film is about and again the font style is not the type of font that would be used in a love film also the date is in the center of the screen is big font size so that it stands put and therefore the audiences would see this as an important date.
The fifth frame introduces one of the main characters he is dressed smartly as he is in a striped white shirt and a dark colored tie this shows that this character is in a high position as he is dressed smartly as the stereo type of a successful man is dressing smartly so therefore this conforms the stereotype also the fact that this character is not just wearing a plain shirt shows that he is not just a common man. The camera is in 'point of view' so someone is looking at him also the camera is at a low angel so this shows that the person that is looking at this character is in a lower position of power as he is looking up towards him so the shows that the smartly dressed character is in position of power. The lighting favors the idea that the location is rough as the lighting is low key lighting so this shows that the film is going to be a dark film where there is suspense and thrill and it is not going to be a happy love film.
The sixth frame now shows the second character of the film and straight away this shocks the audiences as they see this guy bleeding from his face with his shirt torn apart so now they get a better image and from this they can tell who's is the victim that has been is first person view all that time, the blood on the characters face suggests that they have tortured this guy and the guy that is dressed smartly is dangerous type of guy. This adds to the suspense as now the audiences are being pulled in because now they want to know why this has happened to this character. They have used shot/reverse shot to chow that this is a type of conversation that is happening and the camera is at a high angel to show who is powerful and who is not therefore the camera is looking down from a high angle to the victim to show who is superior.
The seventh frame shows the character who is superior from a low angel as the victim is looking up towards him therefore this establishes which character is in potion of power. The low key lighting favors the theme of a thriller/dark film as this makes it more intense also there is a small glimpse of a spot light shining which helps show that the place is dangerous. In this frame the character is coming towards the victim slowly creating more tension and suspense as the audiences are now more into the film as they are expecting something to happen.
The eighth frame shows a Rolex watch being put down and to show that this Rolex has some importance the camera does a close up on this watch so this creates more suspense as they are now thinking who does this belong to , does it belong the victim or the guy with power. The watch is put onto the table by the character with power so as this watch is expensive this may suggest that this character must have a lot of money therefore this character is high up in terms of position and money wise.
The ninth frame again uses low angle to show who is more superior and the camera is an angle to show who is more powerful and low key lighting has been constantly used to show that it dark film and not a family film as low key lighting also brings down the atmosphere.
The second frame favors the first frame as the props that have be used are guns and these props are only visible and the camera is in point of view so it adds to the mystery so it is slowly building up from the gun it suggests danger and threat so audiences would know that there is also going to be some sort of action in the film as there is weapons being used.
